1. Character Consistency: Functionality: Allows users to modify colors and backgrounds while maintaining a consistent character. Usage: Similar to Style Reference, use the –cref argument. Parameters: You can control the reference you want with weights, like –sw. Compatibility: works for both V6 and Niji V6’ (comics). It is great for cohesive storytelling & precision styling. Midjourney suggests that not every mole will be placed in the exact same spot, but rather the focus is on maintaining consistency in characters regarding clothing and across new scenes. It emphasizes the importance of coherence and precision in styling.

• Type –cref URL after your prompt with a URL to an image of a character
• You can use –cw to modify reference ’strength‘ from 100 to 0
• At strength 100 (–cw 100) is default and uses the face, hair, and clothes
• At strength 0 (–cw 0) it’ll just focus on the face (good for changing outfits/hair etc)
• This tool is great for pictures of characters made by Midjourney. It’s not for pictures of real people (it may make them look weird, just like other picture tools do. I guess you can work around this by creating a Midjourney You from a real foto of yourself with the method I already have explained).
• Cref acts like other picture tools but pays more attention to the character’s features.
• This method isn’t perfect; it can’t copy small details like dimples, freckles, or logos on t-shirts exactly.
• Cref can be used with both Niji and regular Midjourney models and can also work with –sref. Keep in mind also that Niji’s speech bubble update changes the expressions according the the speech bubble text (fe a speech bubble with the text “amazing” vs. „sad“)

3.) The updated /describe function goes beyond simple image descriptions. It not only helps you understand images better but also sparks ideas for your own text prompts. Additionally, you can now exert more control over the generated images by combining parts of the prompts. The prompts themselves are now more conversational, which is a departure from the previous straightforward style. When it comes to Midjourney Alpha, one can achieve better results.
